Salawatan

   A common form of Islamic devotional song found in Indonesia, performed by groups of men or women (not mixed) who may dance while sitting, kneeling, or standing as they sing, especially if drums provide accompaniment. Also known as hadrah, rodat in Java, dikie rabano in Sumatra, and butabuh in Lampung. rabano in Sumatra, and butabuh in Lampung.
